Here we go again...
The Formula One 2009 season is all set to start and the outcome has never
been so difficult to call.
The bookmakers seem to have all opted for Jenson Button to win the Australian Grand Prix and to be honest why not.. it's about time he won something.
However some pundits believe the BrawnGp is just bluffing and that the
performances during the test sessions are purely to attract sponsors. Who
knows what the truth is, all we can hope is that it will be a great season
and there will be significantly more competition than ever before.
Bernie Ecclestone has been trying to change the F1 rules, and so have most
of the teams involved. Owing to the lateness of the decision and
widespread disagreement though all changes will be re-examined for 2010.
This is good news for us as we can stick to the rules we have adopted for
the last few season, with just one or two minor changes to spice things
up.
This season to ensure the game is even tougher you will score points for
predicting pole position, the race winner and for the first time the
driver recording the fastest lap.
You will also be awarded additional points for those making up the rest of
the podium. However you must predict both the runner up and the third
place driver in the right order, or else you'll only score half the
points.
Finally this season we will also introduce some occasional bonus
predictions that will require you to guess (for example) which car will
retire first, which constructor will be victorious or even how many pit
stops Ferrari might make during a given race.
Last year's Season Guru "Md'a" is confident he can record back to back
successes. But if you fancy taking the challenge you are welcome to prove
him wrong.
In a few weeks Flutterama's MotoGp league will commence, and follow the
same rules as F1. We'll send out a reminder nearer the time.
In the meantime good luck with your F1 predictions, and try not to leave
it all to the last race.
